8760e3x P900 Watchful waiting.....

This heron stood in this same spot for at least an hour. I had time to hike around the lake and come back and he was still there. I never saw him go to the water or attempt to fish, just standing and waiting .........

 

This is a handheld shot, aiming across the lake. It helps that he was so still!
