Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit WIP 5

This will be the last WIP pic of the model. Since I got back from my (absolutely awesome) vacation in Curacao I redesigned a large part of the cockpit area. It took some time because space is off the essence but not abundant. Still, I'm satisfied with the new cockpit design. The cockpit 'roof' is built in such a way that it can be removed to have a sneak peak inside. The interior is detailed for as much as there was room to work with. It houses 2 ejection seats and a full instrument lay out.

Next to that, the aft fuselage is completed. It was a pretty straight forward build as I already thought it would be. The difficult part, next to the cockpit, was the undercarriage in the nose. The gear itself wasn't the problem. However, getting the bay doors to function properly and making it fit so that it looks as sleek as possible when retracted was quite the challenge.

All in all, I came a long way since I got back. The construction of the model is nearing completion and I'm momentarily adding the finishing touches to the model by applying the decals.

I hope you all like the result of 3 years of collecting bricks and 4 months of building so far.
