India 2017

My 9th trip to India chasing ALCos and the first completely solo. Mainly concentrating on Gujarat/Saurashtra, Rajasthan and the last of the once extensive but now almost extinct Metre Gauge network. A few days were also spent on excursions in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and up to Delhi.
After a dodgy start of illness and train farces, along with some difficult to adjust to temperatures of nearly 40C, it settled down into a brilliant three weeks: great locos, trains, food, scenery and people!
I lugged my Canon DSLR around but took most of the photos with my phone; it was far more descreet, handy and often produced better results, having an HDR feature helped a lot too, although its limitations showed whenever distance was involved. As a result I took more shots than ever before and have decided to post the majority on here, despite the technical quality being somewhat dubious at times - on this occasion more is more and not less!
