Andal WDG3A Shakti 13262 at Chittaurgarh Junction with train 19414, the Weekly Kolkata - Ahmedabad "Sare Jahan Se Achha" Express on Monday 19th March 2019. The diesel now works to/from Barkakana Junction, where it then sits for a day and a half before returning. An electric does the 380 kms each way to/from Kolkata.
A surprise offlink (the train's booked an Abu Road WDM3A) it was running 8.5 hours late, some of the delay was down to the massive engineering possession south of COR combined with the electrification CRS inspection also stopping the job, the rest might have been loco failure or just the general lassitude that seems to blight some long distance non-priority Expresses.
Having festered around Chittaurgarh for 4 hours waiting for an Alco to turn up going north (and watching the farce as what was left of the service disintergrated) I was very pleased with this green beast when a train I could do did finally appear. I took it to Bhilwara for dud WDM3A 14121 back and then called it a day, such was the utter mess the trains were in. Just two locos and 110 kms of travel - possibly the worst day's cranking I'd ever managed in India!
