Ludhiana WDM3A 16135 at Hanumangarh Junction with the inaugural run of train 04776, the 13:50 Passenger to Sadulpur Junction. The old boys waving it off on the platform wanted to garland me and seemed very excited! Monday 19th March 2018.
A recently Gauge Converted line it has had a woefully piss-poor service since reopening and this train, I'm sure, will be most welcome, bringing the total services to three each way a day. What was not welcome, for me, was the use of the loco and stock that should have formed my train to Shri Ganganagar on this, whilst a dolled up with celebratory bling scratch set sat in the sidings with a horrible WDG4D and ended up forming my train!
At the time I couldn't fathom the apparent transposing of sets and was right cheesed off. After getting home and further research it seems that the WDG4D and scratch set were used on the previous night's new (or at least retimed) 19:00 to Sadaulpur, return to Hanumangarh and then onto Shri Ganganagar to balance out the links.
