IR WDM3D 11131 19416 Tawi River viaduct MNVL 130318
The Vatva monster that is WDM3D 11131 heads over a massive viaduct above the river Tawi near to Manwal with the returning Katra - Ahmedabad Weekly Express (train 19416). Tuesday 13th March 2018.
The line is a pretty new construction over some difficult terrain - wish I was at the front this morning on the way up, instead of in the 14th coach, mind, it didn't stop me hearing the beast at the sharp end. The ruling gradient seems to be about 1 in 100 only but with nearly 1000 tons on the drawhook it makes the engine work very hard. Love this loco - mega loud, superbly balanced chug/thrash/turbo/throb/growl and keeps following me around; I think I'll adopt it as my Indian machine, as I've cleared it for over 1000 kms on four separate runs.
