DB Hamm (Westf) interesting architecture Horten kaufhaus 240605

When uploading this photo I intitially mis-remembered this as being the frontage of Hamm (Westf) bahnhof but, nearly nine years later, realise now it certainly isn't! Pretty sure it's somewhere in Hamm, no doubt not far from the station, as I had a train to Münster (Westf) to catch. Anyway, the interesting structural patterns caught my eye. Friday 24th June 2005.

I now believe it is the building that stood opposite the station and looks like it might well have since been redeveloped, but can't find any photos of it on the the net at all.

Update: With thanks to 'Foto Graf !' it turns out this is the Horten department store in Hamm. Prominent German architect Egon Eiermann designed the famous 'Hortenkachel' (Horten Tile) that formed the façade of this series of stores in the 1960's. The building was stripped of the tiles and demolished in 2007/08. It's possible to buy similar tiles on ebay for about €50.
