Touring the former CGW
Iowa Northern operated a business train on a two-day tour of the railroad with CN officials aboard this week.
The first afternoon was spent touring former CGW trackage from Waterloo to Oelwein and a short two-mile segment of the Oelwein to Minneapolis mainline north of the yard that connects to a Viafield grain elevator seen in the background.
With no turning facilities in Oelwein, the railroad spotted this GP40-3 at the elevator to lead the train back towards Cedar Falls for the night before continuing their inspection the next day.
