This Is Not A Human (1)

July 2, 2016. "Sleepwalker" painted bronze by Tony Matelli.

Part of a "group show" which includes more conventional contemporary sculpture pieces, and on view from April 21, 2016 – March 2017 along the High Line .

You gotta see this, sort of. Thought he was real for a few seconds. Then i was surprised how close some people got. There are no other figure on such as this or from this artist.

This seems a tad bashing and making fun of white guys. No schlumpy black guy would be done. It is well done, but why not a more well-built guy, from realistic to Botero-ish. This thing in underwear is a shame. I did not want to get close as these people did.

This guy (sculpture whether it is true to life or not) if made much thinner would bring to mind someone to me such as homeless person,or a mental patient. It may not even crossed the artists' mind. Not wanting or feeling inhibited from portraying a "person of color" in art, in an unflattering light has so permeated society that the 'intellectuals' and 'creative class' is unaware of this taboo they adhere to. Real DIVERSITY, anyone?
