Eastern Caribbean 2012 (2)
by roger4336
The second part of our Eastern Caribbean cruise in April 2012. Janet and I were on the Maasdam, a Holland America ship. This set includes stop at Roseau (Dominica), St. John's (Antigua), Charlotte Amalie (St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands), and Half Moon Cay (Bahamas). It also shows the Maasdam, and scenes on the ship.
The first set had our departure from Fort Lauderdale and stops in Nassau (Bahamas), San Juan (Puerto Rico), and Gustavia (St. Barthélemy).
We took a tour into the interior of Dominica. It was our only tour of the trip, an interesting and varied excursion. I went into the center of Roseau in the afternoon, but did not stay long.
This was my first time in St. Johns, Antigua. I walked for a while, without any particular aim. It was hot.
It was my third time in St. Thomas. The first time I went into the city and looked for signs of its Danish past. The second time I stayed in the port area. This time I went into Charlotte Amalie again, did a little shopping, and saw some places that I had seen in 2004.
Half Moon Cay is an artificial stop, created by Carnival Corp. I went ashore just long enough to see what it was like.
This set ends with photos of the Maasdam and activities on the ship.
