St. Thomas - View from Paradise Point

The view from Paradise Point. It is about 700 feet (215 m) above sea level, the highest point on St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. This is the widest view I could take with my camera. I did not attempt a multi-photo panorama.

Three cruise ships are docked at the West India Company dock in the foreground. From right to left, they are Celebrity Equinox (our ship), Carnival Valor, and Adventure of the Seas (Royal Caribbean).

Charlotte Amalie, the main city of the U.S. Virgin Islands, is at the right. Crown Bay, the secondary cruise ship port and perhaps the main cargo port, is in the left background. It is about 3 miles (5 km) away, straight-line.

The narrow island at left is Hassel Island. It was once part of the defenses of St. Thomas and is now mostly a protected park area. Part of a cafe and a very large house with the same view are in the foreground.
