Belize - Downtown (Southside)

A business building, possibly with apartments on the upper floors, in the Southside section of Belize City, near the Swing Bridge. Brodie's, a large complex of stores, is at far right, with another entrance down Regent Street at the left. I bought a bottle of water there.

Belize was a British colony as British Honduras. It became self-governing in 1964, and achieved full independence in 1981. English is the official language. Nonetheless, people drive on the right. I heard some people speaking another language, which was not Spanish. It may have been Krol, a Creole dialect.
