Berlin - Finance Ministry
This building is now the German Finance Ministry. It is probably better known as the former Air Ministry in the Nazi period. It was built in 1935-1936, and occupies frontage of over 250 m (800 ft) on Wilhelmstrasse, the center of government buildings at the time. It was one of the few major buildings in the center of Berlin that was substantially intact at the end of World War II, in spite of bombing and the ground Battle of Berlin. It was the "House of Ministries" (Haus der Ministerien) during the East German period.
