The street became more useful as site preparation progressed. The area under the live oak trees became a shaded parking lot for construction equipment, pickup trucks, and ordinary cars. A Caterpillar motor grader and 613 wheel tractor are probably among the vehicles under the trees. Noontime temperatures were about 88 F (31 C).
