Inner coffin

Detail from the cartonnage inner coffin for the mummy of a woman called Isetirdis (Isisirdis), lady of the house, daughter of Tjaamunu. The texts on the coffin says that she was the daughter of a brewer and that she was married.

Inner bivalve coffin, representing the deceased. The lid has a broad collar, with superposed crossed red braces. Below this, a winged solar ram. Next register is a solar raptor with spread wings, beneath which are disposed the four Sons of Horus.

Third Intermediate Period - Late Period. Probably from Thebes.
