Command Information Center USS Midway
The Operations Room (also known as combat information center or action information center) is the tactical center of a warship.
The Operations Room brings together and manages information on the warships status, its surroundings and supplies this to the commanding officer who would be present on the bridge, and if on the ship, a flag officer who might have their own separate "flag bridge". Some control, assistance, and coordination functions may be delegated to the CIC.
On aircraft carriers this area is called the combat direction center (CDC). An operations room used for the control of aircraft may be known as an "Aircraft Direction Room".[1] Together with the Operations Room they form an "Operations Headquarters".
CIC. The Command Information Center. While the Captain commands the ship from the bridge, the Admiral commands the task force and strike missions from here.
