Male Resplendent Quetzal
One of the images we took on our last trip to Costa Rica.. The male Quetzal is so colorful and as it is in most species much more vibrant than the female.
One must climb the mountains to see these beautiful birds and it is usually when the avocados ripen in November. They come down to feed on them which are about the size of a small lime. I will post a picture of one eating the avocados. They are not the same as the ones that we eat.
