Garbage

In this photo, you see an overload of garbage. When this picture was captured, it was during the City of Toronto Strike, which closed down any garbage pickup or recreation centers. This affected everyone lives in different way. Parents did not have a public daycare or summer camps to put their kids in while they worked. Youths did not have a recreation center to play in while it rained and which caused them so stay home and gain weight or stay outside where they were influenced by different sorts of activities which are not appropriate for their age. This is bad for our health because the garbage is rotting and polluting the air which causes a defection in the ozone layer which not only affects this neighbourhood but worldwide. This is not only a problem in our neighbourhood but in the whole city of Toronto because it affects everyone. This problem exists because the city of Toronto wouldn’t give in into the union’s offer which affected everyone in the city. This image can educate the community on how important every single job is ranging for a civic engineer to a garbage man. We can hold a community seminar about different jobs and how valuable each of the city service are, so then we can hold a petition that can make city services an essential service and then we can never face a Toronto city services strike again. The people in Toronto shouldn’t suffer from one decision a person in power makes, they should have an annual poll and see what the people of Toronto think about their decisions.
