Harvey Dent's Lucky Silver Dollar
The aim of the contest is to take any officially licensed Lego theme other than the Star Wars theme and build a Podracer based on it.
After a little thought about the available options and fighting off the urge to build an Indian Jones pod lashed with a couple of whips - I decided to use Two-Face from the Batman theme.
I liked the idea of the good and bad sides of Harvey Dent's character juxtaposed with the lightside and the darkside of the force - I felt there was a nice synergy between the ideas of both the source materials.
The pod is built to hopefully resemble the shape of Harvey's silver dollar, the marked coin that he flips to determine his actions. Another similar theme from Star Wars with the 'chance' cube that Watto uses (and Qui-Gon influences).
Of course the engines are built slightly differently, but initially the 'darkside' engine wasn't going to have bodywork - I'd intended to show it as bare exposed engine parts! On reflection I decided that Harvey would still want his pod to look cool. so I rebuilt the engine to better reflect the 'lightside' one.
