Romancing the Fall

This evening, I started shooting from 5:30pm and was waiting for a miracle - hoping for a color burst on clouds. According to forecast, it was not likely that there would be a color burst on clouds, but I was still waiting for the last light of the sunset and cross my fingers for blue hour. Somehow. it turned out that some smog rolled in and reflected a purple sky.

I was attempting to capture swirls under the fall. I started with 5 sec and increased to 30 sec, but the result was not satisfactory. Then, I changed to Bulb and got a decent swirl with 110 sec. I then put on polarizer on top of ND8, and tried to jump to 220 sec. I was only able to do one shot of a 3 portrait pano, because sunset color was fading - the other reason was parking meter expiring - most photographer has a limited budget, hehe! Anyway, this was an expansive shot. Parking in the Fall area was not cheap. My opinion is that operating cost of nature photography in Canada is more affordable that doing photography in tourist area, disregarding the investment in fixed assets. It costs no loonie to hike in woods. Yes! We are pursuing Romance (of PhotoArt) with worldly fortune.
