Sometimes you find yourself looking at the most amazing natural 'sketches', and just wonder how the natural world can produce such intricate and beautiful scenes. The evening I took this, just a couple of days ago, wasn't that promising. The light faded as the sun hit a cloud bank, but the beach was at full low tide, great expanses of untrodden sand were stretched out into the distance and all was well with the world. A b&w conversion seemed the most obvious way to go. The 'feathers' of sand were really the main event for me, but combined with the headland on the horizon. That is the Lizard peninsula seen from Gunwalloe beach. I just can't get enough of that place.
