A Lasting Moment
One from the rocks near my place. I had a great evening playing with the Big Stopper on some simplified comps. I really enjoy selecting slices of a landscape or seascape like this, and framing them up until some sort of tension or relationship between the objects is achieved. I also enjoy thinking in terms of the long exposure, knowing how some bits will turn out, and being surprised what happens to other bits. The way the fg rock diffused into the depths was a real treat for me, and the green hues a bonus. Get yourself a Big Stopper, they make life SO much easier for this sort of stuff.
I feel I have started a nice process of re-examining my local surroundings after feeling like I had shot the place to death. The long exposure and zoom lens have really opened up the door to new possibilities. All I need now is for the rain to stop for tomorrow and I can get a few more like this :)
Thanks for all of your kind comments, I do appreciate them all.
