Jud Turner
"Pollutacuda" - Jud Turner, Aug 2009
Found object assemblage and welded steel sculpture by Jud Turner. 15" x 55" x 10" (wall hanging)
This sculpture inspired by a new and very real technology: www.reuters.com/article/technologyNews/idUSTRE52J1RY20090320
The pollution detecting fish robot seems like a perfect symbol of our attempts to solve problems caused by technology and industry with more technology and industry. Does the thing detect the pollution it surely emits, too?
Plus, I love that the real version of this machine is decked out in a Disney-like cartoon fish skin, putting a happy face on the whole project.
