I had the pleasure of interviewing two retired Marine aviators this weekend about their experiences flying the CH-53D Sea Stallion in combat over Iraq. Retired in 2012, the -53D had been in Marine Corps service since 1968 and was largely replaced by the more powerful CH-53E Super Stallion.
