A Welcome Visitor

An endemic, large fruit-eating New Zealand Wood Pigeon (Kererū) that has been visiting my winter garden the last few weeks. When fruit is in shorter supply during winter months Kererū will eat the foliage of native plants (such as my kowhai tree). This bird (male and female Kererū look alike) has also taken to drinking from the bird bath.
