Late autumn Upper Hutt, New Zealand. Ginkgo Trees in view (Ginkgo biloba) are commonly known as Maidenhair trees and are native to China. They are the last surviving species of the class Ginkgoatae and are considered a living fossil with leaf fossils found dating back 290 million years.
