Tirau

Tirau is a small rural Waikato town of 800 residents, North Island, New Zealand. Previously known only for a major highway junction, then as the closest town to the Hobbiton Movie Set and lately as the Corrugated Capital of the World. Tirau boasts a number of buildings, sculptures and other art works constructed of corrugated iron. The Merino Story is a wool clothing brand with many stores in New Zealand. The store in Tirau consists of a ram and sheep building constructed of corrugated iron. The public toilets are a building in the shape of a sheep dog.
