Rev. Samuel Nisbet, Jr.
CDV from the Nisbet CDV Album, of the Rev. Samuel Nisbet, Jr. This one dates from the 1860's. I was able to find a death notice for him in "The Roman, Citizen", Rome, New York. Rev. Nisbet died of injuries sustained when he fell under a railroad car he was boarding in LaPorte, Indiana. He was on a trip West to visit his sons. He died on August 14, 1884, at the age of 78. One of his sons, Jefferson Nisbet, lived in Earlville, Illinois, at that time. Perhaps that is how the album got to Illinois?
