"Mrs. Wm. Cutter"

Cabinet card by A. D. Lemaire & Sons, Battle Mountain, Nevada. "Mrs. Wm. Cutter" is written in pencil on the back. A seperate stamp is that of L. A. Lemaire (Louis A. Lemaire), who was one of A. D. Lemaire's sons.

Augustus D. Lemaire is listed as a Saloon Keeper in Battle Mountain, Nevada, in the 1880 census. He was 41 years old, born in France. His wife Marier L., was 28, born in Louisiana. Their sons were Louis, age 8; Augustus, age 7; Henry, age 5; and Emile, age 3. All were born in California except Emile, who was born in Nevada.

I did not find Augustus in the 1900 census, but I did find Louis, who was listed as a general merchant in Battle Mountain, Nevada. He was born in California in March of 1872. He was married in 1897 to Katy E, who was born in Missouri in January of 1875. They had one child, Louis E., born in Nevada in May of 1900.

I did not find any of the Lemaire family listed specifically as photographers, but the names on the back of the cabinet card seem to substantiate this.
