After Homer and Ninilchek our next stop was Seward, Alaska. We spent a few days here and it rained most of the time. It is another quaint village with lots of sightseeing flights and bear viewing flights, fishing charters and a port for cruise lines. You can take a tour to see the glaciers up close and calving. Our initial plan was to take one of these tours. Well..... I chickened out! I am terrified of boat rides and being in the open sea. Bad weather blew in and the seas were going to be rough for several days. It was not advised for the squeemish to take a tour at this time......oh darn! ;-)
We walked along the boardwalk at the harbor. Even with the dreary weather the bright color flowerpots and flowers brought a cheerful smile. The fog was rolling in and the gentle mist turned to a heavy rain. Walking at the harbor boardwalk we saw the guys cleaning fish. Amazing how fast they were! There were quite a few people standing around talking to the guys and watching the skillful scalpels at work.
