HBC newsflash 2

The curse of Lunar Girl from Mars appeared to strike again yesterday for the first time since 1959 when new Lunar Girl star Vanity True walked off set and sensationally quit the new series “Lunar Girl and The Hunt”, citing artistic differences and disappointing viewing figures as the reasons for her departure. The curse of Lunar Girl is well known, during filming of the original Lunar Girl in 1951, the soundstage burned down mid way through filming, and in 1959, during production of a second series, original Lunar Girl star Deanna Unsworth died suddenly. Neither Miss True or HBC studio executives were available for comment today, but it understood that “Lunar Girl and The Hunt” has now been shelved indefinitely. It is not known at this stage whether or not HBC will seek a replacement lead actress, or more likely, simply abandon the franchise. “The Ballad of Frank Haskins”, also starring Vanity True, has already completed filming, and still may be shown at a later date.
