Traditional Japanese Flashlight

Emergency flashlights were trendy in the 1980s and most houses built then had them installed as a matter of course - ours is still affixed to the wall in the living room (despite our house being built in 1976). I should probably see if it still works...

 

[Later: I checked the batteries and of course they were dead...]
