Weekend Assortment

Another shot from my visit last weekend to the Spa Valley Railway.

Hunslet built austerity loco 2890, dating back to 1943, prepares to depart Eridge with the 15.25 to Tunbridge Wells West.

The mixed rake of four coaches includes a green liveried MkII BSO, followed by a GW liveried Mk I buffet vehicle and a green liveried MkI TSO. The leading TSO sports BR blue & grey livery on this side, but Southern malachite green on the other. I'm guessing this vehicle in in the course of being fully painted into green livery. Just visible at the rear of the train is BR blue liveried 31 430 'Sister Dora', which had worked in the previous working from Tunbridge Wells West. By this stage the type 2 diesel had uncoupled and would run into the bay platform after departure of the 15.25 service.
