Shellfish
In early November 2018, the Camp Fire swept across the town of Paradise, 80 miles north of Sacramento. Paradise was burned in its entirety, with over 6,000 buildings destroyed and 27,000 people displaced. By November 10, the Camp Fire became the most destructive in the history of California, burning through more than 100,000 acres.
200 miles to the south, the smoke reached the Bay Area on November 9: the ashes of forests, homes, stores, pets, and more than 20 individuals trapped in the fire.
The afternoon of November 10, the shore at Half Moon Bay was covered in an eerie light, barely filtering through the smoke clouds.
