Manoel Island
The main structure on Manoel Island, which lies opposite the Maltese capital, Valletta, is Fort Manoel. It was built during the early 18th century under Grand Master Manoel de Vilhena and was severely damaged by bombs during World War 2. It is still undergoing restoration. I took this photograph when crossing by ferry from Sliema to Valletta.
