Castle Bromwich Hall
The gardens of Jacobean Castle Bromwich Hall are a rare surviving example of an English Baroque garden. Covering an area of some ten acres, they have since 1985 been owned by the Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens Trust (and run and maintained with the help of volunteers) and have restored to how they looked in their heydey, between 1680 and 1740. All of the trees and plants were known to gardeners then. This photograph shows a detail of the Green House (also known as the Orangery), dating from 1729.
