Port Sunlight
Designed by William and Segar Owen, the Lady Lever Art Gallery in the village of Port Sunlight, was commissioned by William Lever, 1st Viscount Leverhulme, to house his eclectic collections of paintings, sculpture, furniture and other items. It opened to the public in 1922 and is now part of National Museums Liverpool. On display in the South Sculpture Hall is a marble and bronze statue by Maurice Ferrary (1899) called Salammbo.
