Santa Maria del Popolo
The Cerasi Chapel in the 15th century Basilica of Santa Maria del Popolo contain two of Caravaggio's finest religious paintings, the Crucifixion of St Peter and the Conversion of St Paul (seen in this photograph). They were both painted in 1600-01. Between them is a fine work by Annibale Carracci, The Assumption of the Virgin. It was also painted in 1600-01.
