Crack of light
At the end of a very dull dark rainy day, a crack of sunlight appeared on the horizon, below the grey skies.
It was a welcome sight, although it did not last long.
This photo was taken for Our Daily Challenge group. The topic today is Valuable. The hint of sunlight among the darkness was valuable on this rainy day. However the darkness is also valuable, as without it, we wouldn't appreciate the light.
It reminds me of some of the lyrics to "Calling All Angels" by Jane Siberry:
and every day you gaze upon the sunset
with such love and intensity
why it's...it's almost as if
if you could only crack the code
then you'd finally understand what this all means
but if you could...do you think you would
trade it in
all the pain and suffering?
ah, but then you'd miss
the beauty of the light upon this earth
and the sweetness of the leaving
