Exciting Vegetables

My January 8th photo for this year's photo-a-day challenge. I'm trying to take and create an interesting image each day, to challenge both my photographic eye and creativity in post-processing. I thought I had forgotten to take a photo on the 8th, then realized I had taken photos of butternut squash while cutting them up for dinner (yes, that's what we photographers do, and that's why dinner is sometimes late ;)

 

While pretty on their own, I did some photoshopping to transform them to what you see above.
