Manitobas Floral Emblem

The wild crocus is a tough and hardy flower that arrives early(for our standards) and grows through the old leaves and dead grasses from the previous fall. More often than not it ends up being covered by a late snow . Their fury stems and short stature helps them to with stand the strong cold winds. I think it is an apt symbol.
