Opening spread for a feature story about war heroes. The dog tag type treatment idea was immediate. It just felt right. Djamel E. Ramoul shot these wonderful dramatic black and white portraits. We made everyone wear black for so we could inset a subtle photo of how the person looked during their days of service. The effect seemed to really touch something in people.
