Leyland Super Buffalo
My first job in Transport was in 1988 with Cuprinol Ltd in Frome, Somerset. At the time they had a fantastic fleet of Scammell S26's running demountable boxes and tanks with drawbar trailers to distribute Wood Preservers, Varnishes and Paints nationwide. This picture from 1978 shows a Leyland Super Buffalo in the bottom yard, the main company offices can be seen above. The entire Frome site is now a housing estate(!) after ICI bought up the company and moved out of the town. The Scammells had already long since been sold off and largely exported in favour of selling the in-house distribution off to a large haulier for large scale distribution with artics and much handling and tran-shipping of product, at some point Bartrums Road Services were involved in this and a company called RDB (pretty sure they are no more).
