Short-eared Owl

On Monday morning I left Calgary at 7:45 am to spend a day driving around with friends. We were looking for birds.

 

After our visit to Turner Valley we headed East along the highway where we were delighted to see some trees painted with beautiful hoar frost!

 

Near the end of our drive we found one short-eared owl! That was enough to make us happy!
