Juvenile Swainsons Hawk_IMG_6446

I was out driving the back roads the other evening without much success until I happened upon this buteo! I was very pleased that it didn't fly off but I had to take the photos from the inside of the car through the passenger window! I was afraid to stay to long as the road is rather twisty and vehicles sometimes race down it too quickly. I got a few photos and then was able to move ahead a few feet to get a frontal photo of it.
