55001 St PADDY waiting scrapping at Doncaster Works.

 

Built at Vulcan Foundry (Works No E2906/D558) and delivered as D9001 in February 1961 she was named in July of the same year, renumbered 55001 in February 1974 she (with 55020) was one of the first two Deltics to be withdrawn in January 1980.
