Leeds Marsh Lane.

A photo of the interior of Marsh Lane signalbox taken on 4th March 1961, but it could have been taken in the 19th century. The signalbox is still gaslight, cooking is also by gas as the box didn't have electricity, though it did have running water. The trainrecorders desk is in the far corner, with a separate two mantle light and the telegraph instrument to the right of it.

Marsh Lane was the site of the first railway station in Leeds, which was the Leeds and Selby Railway terminus opened on 22nd September 1834.

Marsh Lane signalbox (originally Marsh Lane East) was unusual in having a frame at the front of the box 1 to 33 and another at the rear 34 to 49. The box was the first box to close under the LEEDS PSB resignalling on 17th October 1965.
