Milton.
Two views with Fifty-Four years between them taken at Farlam Road bridge between Milton and Brampton Junction station on the West line.
Top taken on the 22nd July 1967 shows a Metropolitan-Cammell four-car DMU with NE51435 leading on 2M72 the 1625 Newcastle to Carlisle.
Bottom taken on the 16th October 2021 shows LNER Class 800 No 800105 with the diverted 1W06 0730 London Kings Cross to Aberdeen.
There are virtually no changes to the infrastructure Milton crossing box Up Home signal is still a semaphore and appears to be on the same post, the only visible changes are that the telephone poles have gone and the down line on which the trains are travelling over has changed from bull-head to flat-bottom although in both views the up line is flat-bottom. One change which can't be seen is that the bridge the trains are about to pass under has been rebuilt and now has a footpath instead of having to stand on a very narrow country lane to take the photographs although this is only on the bridge and not the whole lane.
