The British Queen

The British Queen pub on Grape Street is dwarfed by the new assembly shop of Hunslet TPL, built in 1991 in anticipation of an increased workload. When I worked at Hunslet Engine Co, this piece of land was the company car park. By October 1996, when this photo was taken, Hunslet had ceased production, thus robbing the pub of one of its main sources of customers. It has since closed.
