The left front wheel has been pushed about 35cm back and out from where it should be and the tilt / lean mechanism is exposed. There are some heavy forgings in there which make the frame and the moving arms which (along with some clever electronics and hydraulics) enable the MP3 to be ridden just like a two-wheeler even though it is actually a trike. Some of those forgings have snapped, showing that the front end of the bike absorbed a lot of energy before our bodies began to absorb the rest. On a conventional two wheeler with only one wheel and a pair of telescopic forks ahead of us, the machine would have have absorbed much less of the impact energy, potentially leaving us more seriously injured.
Looking on the bright side, the new 2014-15 model MP3 500 has some nice little improvements to its styling and practicality !!!
